Björk: Homogenic
Björk: Homogenic
Label: Elektra
Year: 1997
It was always evident that Björks’ artistic vision was never going to fit into the confines of a band. Her voice soars on “Joga”, “Unravel” sounds as if it was recorded in a garden and “Bachelorette” does her heroes proud. What really stands out on the first half of Homogenic is the way Björk and the electronics are adversaries, while on the second half a detente has been negotiated as they help her on “Alarm Call”, she helps them on “Pluto” and in true Björk fashion the closing track brings it all together.
