The Church: Starfish
The Church: Starfish
Label: Arista
Year: 1988
Starfish is a London record masquerading as a Los Angeles record. The opening track is way too long and “Under The Milky Way” is L.A. via London although a bit too long. After that it’s five tracks of full on L.A. and you can probably thank co-producer Greg Ladanyi for that, but it’s hard to argue production is the only problem. “Reptile”, is perfect for the non Church listener (although clocking in at close to 5 minutes is pushing it) and from there it’s 2 more songs with a running time of over 8 minutes. Where are The Church from?
