Label: Epic
Year: 1969
Perhaps you know the Flamin’ Groovies as a pseudo British band who didn’t score with their should have scored big song “Shake Some Action” from 1972 among other years. However, before that the Flamin Groovies were an American rock n roll/boogie woogie outfit who sometimes sounded British. “Love Have Mercy” sounds like a cover but is in fact an original, whereas “The Girl Can’t Help It” and “Rockin Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu” are covers that make you wish they had more originals like the one that sounds like a cover. The originals come one after another on side 2 other than “Somethin’ Else/“Pistol Packin’ Mama” which make you wish they had more covers
