There are some that would say Interplay is Bill Evans best album. Not to disagree, but inserting take 6 of “I’ll Never Smile Again” onto the CD version after take 7 of “I’ll Never Smile Again” as a bridge to the second half of Interplay is more hindrance than help. Hail Bill though - who had nothing to do with that decision - and his sidemen, who are all legends.
