Jimmy Buffett opens the party at The Fox Theater in Atlanta on August 8, 9 & 10, 1978 playing to the people in the deep seats, while staying on point and supporting himself on a broken leg. Throughout the four sides of You Had To Be There, Jim is backed by the Coral Reefer Band, boasting players that could have been employed in other bands or places, but wouldn’t have worked as often or in a more loose atmosphere. As the sides go on, the party heads to Maurice Gusman Cultural Center in Miami on August 14, 15 & 16 becoming less coherent as Jimmy proves he knew his audience and the Coral Reefer Band knew their workplace.
