Lou Reed: New Sensations
Label: RCA Victor
Year: 1984
As a songwriter Lou Reed had great pop sensibilities, but as a singer he had none. He easily gets around it though - from the Lou classic “I Love You Suzanne” to “My Red Joystick” to “Turn To Me” to the title cut and all of side 2. Which poses the question - is there another 60s musical icon with a better 80s catalog than Lou Reed? Honestly?
