On the follow up to what many consider her masterpiece, PJ Harvey wants to tell your ears about her brief history and begins by plodding through the longest song on the album. However, that’s not necessarily problematic as it allows time to flip through the many photos included within the cd booklet. However, it’s problematic when the flipping continues through song four. After the flipping stops it’s apparent Uh Huh Her is not going to get on track, although it rolls and rocks in an effort to do so. To Polly Jean’s credit I’m sure Uh Huh Her was the record she wanted to make and the photos are pretty cool, especially the ones where she’s holding a camera. Selfies they’re now called I think.
