Temple of the Dog: Temple of the Dog Label: Epic Year: 1991 If you’ve never fully bought into Soundgarden or Pearl Jam, love them both, or the opposite, then Temple of the Dog is probably for you. This is where Chris Cornell proves why he’s on all those lists, Matt Cameron uses his hands, Mike McCready’s metal licks are at home and Jeff Ament/Stone Gossard are the (insert bassist/rhythm guitarist here) of their generation. It’s a shame it took such a tragedy to realize Temple of the Dog, but that’s the way it goes.
